artist bio             Carolyn Cronin Hughes was born and raised on the south west side of Chicago. She eared her

   BA in communication design from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Hughes worked as an art director

   and graphic designer for over twenty-five years. She began her art practice in 2009 working primarily 

   with discarded books. In 2014 she took part in "The Center Program" at the Hyde Park Arts Center in

   Chicago, where she began her work with porcelain.
